Wajer Yachts recently revealed its inaugural model equipped with outboard engines—a notable shift for the esteemed Dutch shipbuilder . Since the company’s nascency, Wajer’s identity has been tied to the use of inboard Volvo Penta IPS engines. However, the new Wajer 38 S, which debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival, charts a novel course, harnessing the power and agility of triple Mercury Verado outboards.

This new vector builds on Wajer’s rich maritime heritage. The yard carries on a generations-old shipbuilding tradition, its roots extending deep into the Low Countries’ seafaring history. The Wajer name has become synonymous with Dutch ingenuity and craftsmanship.

The 39-foot 38 S, with its muscular 400 horsepower outboards, promises thrill-seeking owners a tidal wave of excitement. Capable of cresting 55 knots, this speed machine leaves its inboard sisters in its foamy wake. Yet, Wajer also caters to more leisurely, cerebral seafarers, as the 38 S retains the brand’s sophisticated styling and luxury appointments.

From the North Sea to the Amalfi Coast, discerning captains can chart a course for adventure, while remaining anchored in timeless Dutch elegance.
