Abraham-Louis Breguet stands as a titan in the rarefied world of haute horlogerie; his ingenious inventions defined the very essence of fine watchmaking. Now, over two centuries later, the House of Breguet pays tribute to its founder’s legacy with a masterpiece that epitomizes the brand’s continuance of his horological arts—the Classique Double Tourbillon “Quai de l’Horloge” 5345.

A cerebral celebration of Breguet’s first tourbillon patent on June 26, 1801, this limited edition channels the maison’s rich history in rose gold this time around; a platinum version of the timepiece was released in 2020. The double tourbillon movement dazzles with 740 minuscule components choreographed in an endless waltz within the pink gold case. Two tourbillons pirouette independently yet interdependently, their mesmerizing mechanical ballet regulated by a central differential.

But beyond the technical sophistication, one finds a multi-layered homage to the artistic crafts nurtured by Breguet. Guilloché, engraving, chamfering—traditional arts elevated to virtuosity. The engine-turned guilloché radiating on the rose gold plate recalls a symphony of sound waves. Engravers spent over 100 hours recreating Breguet’s historic Quai de l’Horloge workshop, transforming the caseback into a living diorama. Chamfering morphs sharp edges into luminous facets, with hand-polishing that eludes even the most advanced machines.

This wrist-borne sculpture celebrates the living heritage of Breguet—where technical innovation intertwines with poetry, and pragmatic function merges with transcendent artistry. For connoisseurs, it represents the pinnacle of horology as high art.
