Audi has taken the wraps off its highly anticipated Q6 e-tron, a cutting-edge electric SUV that promises to redefine the premium electric vehicle segment. Built on the innovative Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, co-developed with Porsche, the Q6 e-tron boasts an impressive array of advanced features and specifications.
Under the hood, the Q6 e-tron quattro packs a punch with 422 horsepower in nominal mode, while the performance-oriented SQ6 e-tron delivers a staggering 483 horsepower. When launch control is engaged, these figures jump to 456 and 510 horsepower, respectively. This translates to blistering acceleration, with the Q6 e-tron quattro hitting 60 mph from a standstill in just 5.0 seconds, and the SQ6 e-tron accomplishing the same feat in a mere 4.2 seconds.
Range anxiety is a thing of the past with the Q6 e-tron quattro, which is estimated to achieve over 300 miles on a single charge based on the EPA test cycle. The SQ6 e-tron’s range will be announced later this year. Both variants support ultra-fast DC charging at 270 kW and 800 volts, allowing for a 10-80% state of charge in just 21 minutes. AC charging is also supported at 9.6kW (240V/40A).
The Q6 e-tron’s exterior showcases Audi’s signature SUV styling, with refined e-tron design language that exudes both elegance and sportiness. The interior takes the digital experience to new heights, with pioneering technologies and a user-centric design philosophy.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner emphasized the significance of the Q6 e-tron, stating, “Built on the new PPE platform, the Audi Q6 e-tron is the next technological leap in premium electric mobility for our customers.” He added that the PPE platform demonstrates Audi’s commitment to pooling expertise within the Volkswagen Group to make electric mobility scalable and accessible across various segments.
Deliveries are expected to commence in the summer of 2024. As Audi continues to electrify its portfolio, the Q6 e-tron marks a significant milestone in the brand’s journey towards a sustainable and technologically advanced future.
