Tech mogul Marc Andreessen has listed his Atherton home for $33.4 million amid a recent surge in luxury home prices across the Bay Area. The stately yet understated 1.55-acre property underwent an extensive redesign under Andreessen’s ownership, transforming it into one of the most high-tech estates in Silicon Valley.

While retaining its symmetrical craftsman exterior, the interiors were completely reimagined into an oasis of chic sophistication. Designer touches abound, from the American cherrywood floors to custom built-ins intended to seamlessly display fine art. No expense was spared to accommodate contemporary media needs, with concealed screens installed in every room.

The home’s grand scale lends itself well to hosting major events, with two kitchens, quarters for catering staff, and a converted four-car garage equipped with a range of appliances. The estate comprises a main house with five bedrooms, a one-bedroom guest house, and a detached office/studio building, in addition to manicured grounds guarded by mature trees.

Andreessen, a prominent venture capitalist and co-founder of Netscape, has been actively upgrading his property portfolio, recently spending $177 million on a sprawling Malibu compound. This new listing price is over double what he originally paid for the Atherton house in 2007, reflecting the Bay Area’s strong home values.

Andreessen’s net worth is around $1.9 billion, per Forbes.
