Audi gears up to unleash an all-electric off-road beast with the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar, channeling the rugged rally racers tearing up the desert. Set to launch in early 2024 with a starting price around €120,000 in Germany, this special edition channels adventure with all-terrain enhancements.

Inspired by Audi’s innovative RS Q e-tron that tackled the grueling Dakar Rally using an electric powertrain, the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar amps up capability for going off the beaten path. A raised suspension boosts ground clearance to 8 inches, while knobby General Grabber AT3 tires optimize grip on loose surfaces.

The Q8 packs two electric motors churning out 402 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque, rocketing to 60mph in under 6 seconds. Total range reaches over 300 miles per charge of the 106 kWh battery. Sophisticated tech ensures composed handling, with adaptive air suspension lowering at high speeds for stability and efficiency.

Exterior styling echoes rally racers with flared wheel arches and optional Dakar decals along the blacked-out bodywork. Special badging and projected puddle lamps signal this Q8’s adventurous spirit. Inside, deeply bolstered sports seats finished in rugged materials like Dinamica microfiber set the tone.

Stocked with standard assists for tackling tough terrain, the Q8 edition Dakar features hill descent control, a surround view camera, and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive. Matrices LED headlights maximize visibility on and off-road.

Yet luxury still reigns with diamond-stitched leather and ambient lighting offering 64 interior hues. An available Bang & Olufsen sound system immerses occupants in rich audio. For charging in remote locations, Audi provides a second onboard charger and portable charging equipment.

Audi rounds out this special edition with smart tech like wireless Apple CarPlay and a head-up display. Virtual side mirrors utilizing cameras boost visibility in adverse conditions while enhancing aerodynamics.
