New York-based Priority Bicycles has unveiled a new electric model called the e-Classic Plus. The e-bike pays homage to the inaugural Classic model launched in 2014. The e-Classic Plus is designed to provide a subtle energy boost without the weight and maintenance demands of other electric bicycles.
Unlike most electric bikes that use a rear-hub or mid-drive motor, the e-Classic Plus opts for a 250-W front-hub motor. This leaves room for a Gates Carbon Belt Drive and a 3-speed Shimano Nexus SG-3D55 hub at the rear, resulting in a balanced and nimble riding experience. The bike can reach speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h).
The removable 374-Wh downtube battery offers a range of up to 60 miles (96.5 km) on a single charge. The e-Classic Plus also boasts hydraulic disc brakes, puncture-resistant tires, and motor cutoff for enhanced stopping power and safety. It features a sleek design, with a lightweight 6061 aluminum-alloy frame and full color-matched fenders.
The e-Classic Plus is priced at $1,699.
