Rapper Rick Ross picked up an address on Miami’s esteemed Star Island this summer. Ross, a multiple Grammy Award nominee who was raised in Florida, paid $35 million for the property. The estate’s interiors measure in at 9,747 sq. ft.
Star Island, an engineered cay in Biscayne Bay, is populated by a small number of exclusive properties. Ross’s new house is a six-bedroom affair. Positioned at the end of a languid, palm-studded walkway, it begins with a glassy two-level foyer with a thirty-foot ceiling and marble floor.
As the interiors develop, the use of glass as an interior architectural feature becomes a dominant theme; the living style emerges from the transparency, space and atrium-like feel that results. Hardwood, natural stone fireplaces, and backlit tray ceilings also contribute to the home’s warmly contemporary style.
RE the amenities list: unsurprisingly, it’s considerable. An entertainment slash billiards room, formal dining room, unexpectedly cozy kitchen, library slash office, and extravagant master are the highlights inside; the master opens to the property’s pool area, which offers views of the bay and is augmented with an outdoor bar and summer kitchen. A 40-foot dock completes the profile.
Ross’ discography includes a string of chart-topping albums. His most recent studio release is 2021’s Richer Than I Ever Been.
