Residence-wise, the last time we wrote up actress Gwyneth Paltrow, the Academy Award-winner had just signed over ownership of her Tribeca loft to a new owner, who passed nearly $11 million back to her in the agreement.
Paltrow was back in the real estate news this summer with an interesting short-term offering: she recently placed the guest house of her Montecito retreat into the sparsely populated A-list invitational category. The price for a night on the estate? Gratis, apparently. Paltrow’s Instagram post on the subject declares social outreach in the time of Covid is the inspiration. Which sounds a little like magic realism.
The post goes on to suggest poolside recreation and perhaps a day hike in the splendid environs might divert the winner. A dinner with Gwyn and spouse is included, too, according to the Airbnb posting. Will Paltrow cook? Can she? One lucky guest will find out.
The cottage, of course, looks a treat. It features a fireplace, a sunny bedroom with a soaking tub-equipped bath (Goop-stocked), a charming little kitchen, and French doors that open to the Mediterranean climate.
