This newest of Ferrari models, the KC23, was commissioned as a one-off by a special client. Ferrari’s Special Projects division handled the request, delivering a dream of a track-only vehicle in a shimmering tone called ‘Gold Mercury.’ The model also features a greenhouse cockpit, a great deal of cutting-edge technology, and vertical doors reminiscent of the LaFerrari.
Beneath the digital details and the racer chops is the nerve center of Ferrari’s 488 GT3 Evo track car, a positive monster on the course with an unimpeachable and very imposing competitive record. The 488 GT3’s V8 biturbo is the heart of the KC23; along for the ride is a suite of ‘custom kinematics,’ a host of active aero components which leaps into life when the car is started. The centerpiece is a rear wing which, when the KC23 is not in burning rubber on the track, can be removed.
The interiors look like a candy store for the amateur track set: a yoke wheel bristling with controls, a digital instrument cluster, and a panel dominated by rocker-switch operational options. All with Alcantara frosting.
Previous one-off creations from the esteemed automaker include the SP51.
