Actress Parker Posey, who has lent her soulfully offbeat presence to a seemingly endless list of independent and arthouse flicks, put her New York City triplex apartment up for sale recently with an asking price of $1.995 million.
Posey has owned the co-op in Chelsea since 2019. A look at then-and-now images reveals notable changes for the better in the residence. The kitchen has seen the greatest degree of attention, with an earthy yellow glazed tile counter backsplash contrasting with black counter and island tops, natural-toned cabinetry with black fixtures, and red tile floor in a herringbone pattern. The tile is reprised in the primary bath.
Additionally, the parquet floors have been refinished, and the unit’s spiral staircase, previously a ponderous affair of solid white balustrades and treads finished a dark honey, has been replaced with a more traditionally skeletal design in black metal and hardwood plank for a less intrusive presence.
The unit’s layout includes a sleeping loft bedroom; plenty of space is allotted to the walk-in closet. The main living area features a large window with a half-moon overlay, a window box, and a brick fireplace accent wall. The property’s third level is a private roof deck.
Posey’s upcoming projects include comedy horror film The Parenting, with Edie Falco and Lisa Kudrow.
