Mercedes-Benz is giving the GLS series a refresh for the upcoming model year.
Buyers looking at 2024 iterations of the popular SUV line will notice a host of exterior refinements that includes grille louvers finished in ‘Silver Shadow’ and a smoother front bumper, as well as new LED taillights in a trio design. New exterior colors include Twilight Blue Metallic and Alpine Grey. However, the more substantive changes are found within.
For 2024, the GLS will come configured in six- and seven-seat versions; new interior trim options include glossy Linden Wood and MANUFAKTUR-level piano gloss. The GLS vehicles come with a new steering wheel with spoke controls, and MBUX off-road info that includes lateral inclination, gradient and compass visuals. An Off-Road Engineering Package is optional for the 580.
The 2024 GLS series begins with the GLS 450 4MATIC, with the 580 4MATIC as a mid-market choice. Uptown is the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, while the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 occupies the performance niche. Base horsepower and torque ratings come in at 375 and 369, respectively, topping out with the AMG GLS’s 603 and 627, ISG omitted.
The AMG GLS also packs in a host of new standard features, including a Burmester sound system, panoramic sliding sunroof, surround-view system, and AMG Performance Exhaust.
