The Los Angeles estate purchased by actress Eva Longoria and entertainment exec José Bastón in 2017 is back on the market this month. Renovated stem-to-stern and dressed to the nines, the larger Beverly Hills estate is presently tagged at $22.888 million.

The property, which as it stands distributes eight bedrooms and ten baths across about 11,000 sq. ft. of interiors, was completed in 1996. The 1.42 acres of grounds crown a little hilltop, and the design of the property makes for a romantic driveway that circles up through the landscaping to the motor court. On the plateau, the degree of space allows for a leisurely pool area, with enclosed indoor/outdoor living areas, a pool, outdoor staircases, a patio complex that’s engineered for outdoor entertaining; just below is a discrete sports complex perched via stilts above the gradient.

The home’s façade strikes a more modern tone, with an emphasis on rectangular shapes; the imposing first impression is balanced out by the bright red used for the double front doors, and the tile roof that emerges from one side as the garage breaks the building into an L. A soaring glass installation on one side and a series of glass French doors on the other bring a touch of transparency to coming home and a great deal of natural light to the interiors.

Inside, the modern feel is far more pronounced by virtue of the revision. Matte-finished wide-plank, a rounded skylight, a staircase with steel-and-glass balustrade and floating plank treads, and a wraparound balcony above express the soaring foyer; the bright red of the doors is brought inside as well, engaging readily. The kitchen continues the theme with commercial overtones and expansive surfaces, while the dayroom opens to the outdoor living area through a wall of fold-away glass.

There’s a lot more to see in this home, with the space purposed as an art studio and the fireplace library — midcentury-inspired — acting as highlights. A glass-and-hardwood fitness studio and theater room are the icing on the cake.
