The Los Angeles-area modern-style listed late last year by Tyler the Creator has gone lickety-split to a new owner. The property in Bel-Air appeared with an asking price of $7 million — significantly below the producer and rapper’s $7.92 million purchase price — and wound up selling for very nearly that amount. The home closed at $7.9 million in the first few days of the year.
The 1965-built single-level sits on a ridge commanding very fine views of the local landscape. It contains four bedrooms and five baths across its 5,826 sq. ft. of interior living area, giving it a rambling footprint. The living style arises from high ceilings, plentiful glass, and a warm but restrained decorative sensibility.
Highlights of the house include the living area at one end, which features an open fireplace, a wall of glass inset with huge single-pane sliding doors, and series clerestories high in a vaulted ceiling. The office is another gem, a lush creative workspace with plentiful built-in bookshelves and a massive wraparound desk. In the living room there’s a bit of additional texture by way of mid-gray wall covering.
Amenities in the home include a yoga studio, a master with a huge walk-in closet, a media room, and a wide-open kitchen and family area. The 1.05-acre lot size offers plenty of space for lawns and gardens, as well as a pool patio with BBQ bar overlooking Holmby Hills.
