The waterfront Malibu residence of rhyme-master Dr. Dre surfaced on the open market recently tagged at a flat $20 million. The towering 8,843 sq. ft. bit of beachy flash contains six bedrooms and seven baths across three levels, while its specialty rooms include a large recording studio with multiple stations.

The home’s top floor is dedicated to a sprawling master suite. The bedroom features a wall of sliding glass opening to a private oceanfront terrace and a sitting area with a fireplace accent wall; a wall of pocketing doors divides the sleeping accommodations from the bath, which is decked out with a step-up spa soaking tub. In the primary suite’s hinterlands is a walk-in closet and dressing space with a companion sauna.

On the lower level, the shared spaces are a loft-like aggregate that culminates in a step-down living room with a fireplace accent wall finished with strikingly figured stone and another wall of sliding glass that opens to a broad terrace that features a staircase leading beachward. The figured stone is picked up as an accent material for the bank of built-ins that comprise the entertainment space on the opposite side of the room. Up above, stone tile floors grace a dining area that’s filled out by a billiards table, while the large kitchen is finished in black caps and tops, stainless hardware, and pale hardwood cabinetry.
