A Bugatti smartwatch might be the brand’s most representative accessory. It also may be the only way many fans will ever find themselves sharing ownership of the brand.
To be sure, there’s less of a thrill accessing an app than directly interfacing with a W16 engine (particularly if that storied power plant will soon be a thing of the past). Still, by sharing a material commonality with a four-wheeled Bugatti, the $2,599 Carbone Limited functional wrist wear is very evocative of the brand’s cars. As its name implies, this entry in the Bugatti accessories lineup features an all-carbon fiber case machined by CNC; the distinction makes it, as the Bugatti points out, the first of its kind.
A sapphire crystal protects the AMOLED display, which can be set to a very convincing classic chronograph; the many additional screens — there are 20 in all — include calorie recording, regeneration, stress measurement, and bioage. Dual heart rate sensors are installed in the back of the watch, which also features 100-meter water resistance and a battery life of up to 15 days before recharging is necessary.
Straps in silicon or silicon and nylon are available for the Carbon Limited, and only 2500 examples of the smartwatch will be produced. First deliveries are expected by December.
