The Richard Mille RM 07-01 Intergalactic series might just represent definitive proof that diamonds are just stars that have fallen to earth.
With a mix of multi-carat dazzle against a background of cosmic black Carbon TPT (and a bit of 5N red gold in lieu of harvest moonlight), the automatically winding RM 07-01 is one of the more visually-refined watches to emerge from the watchmaker’s typically technically heavy house style. Black rubber and microblasted, electroplasma-treated grade-5 titanium are also used in the build.
The RM 07-01 is available in four iterations: Bright Night ($243,000), Dark Night ($188,000), Misty Night ($243,000) and Starry Night ($283,000), with each bringing an individual design layout to the theme. All variations feature a skeletonized CRMA2 calibre, which is designed with a customizable variable-geometry rotor and a bidirectional winding system.
The construction of the series is typically Richard Mille: nearly bulletproof, and micron-fine. A fast-rotating barrel and an optimized gear teeth pressure angle should get any horology enthusiast’s blood pumping.
The RM 07-01 Intergalactic watches have an estimated 50-hour power reserve, and are water resistant to 50 meters.
