With his engaging new Manhattan co-op unit secured at a $3.9 million premium, comic writer and actor Louis C.K. has one or two Big Apple residences too many. And so back onto the open market goes the property, with a sense of urgency; in January, Louie listed it at $2.5 million, only $100K more than his December 2016 purchase price, if public records are accurate. It is currently tagged at $1.9 million.
Louie purchased the West Village unit for an above-ask $2.45 million. He had already bought heavily into the neighborhood, gradually acquiring four units in a brownstone in the neighborhood.
The outgoing co-op features a seamless transition from foyer to primary combination living area; the living room features a half-wall of windows overlooking the city. Built-in bookshelves, an easterly-exposure master bedroom, and a kitchen with shaker cabinetry in a warm finish and a burgundy range. Parquet oak runs throughout the unit, kitchen and bathrooms excluded.
The new co-op purchased by Louie this autumn is located in a 1927-vintage building in the West Village. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence is a combination unit of two original apartments, and features an incredibly appealing living style mainly composed of bookshelves, bright white paint, original beamed ceilings, and parquet oak.
