Jazz Center Hassan Whiteside Picks Up Newly Built Penthouse in Miami for $1.2M

Utah Jazz center Hassan Whiteside has secured accommodations for downtime this winter. The NBA defensive ace just spent $1.2 million on a high-rise condo in Miami.

You could call the unit a pied-a-terre. In fact, the building is partially designed as just that: a pied-a-terre specialty condominium. The Standard Residences, as it is called, is currently being completed, and scheduled to open in early 2023.

Like the other units in the building, Whiteside’s features interior design by Urban Robot Associates, a Miami Beach-based architectural firm. The property is a penthouse with 11-foot ceilings. It contains two bedrooms and two baths.

A mixed-use building, The Standard Residences will feature flexible short-term rentals — ‘ready to rent’ units — of at least 30 days as well as long-term residential condos. Amenities include a rooftop restaurant and pool, a fitness center, a screening room, and a mixed-use space: a pickleball court that can be adapted to a disco dance floor.
