The latest news from Korean luxury automaker Genesis concerns U.S. sales strategy for its much-anticipated Electrified G80 model. The news follows Genesis’ announcement that the sticker for the 2023 Electrified G80 will read $80,920 with destination included. And it comes fully loaded—no half-measures.

Initially, Genesis’ conservative approach to selling EVs in gas-guzzling America resulted in a four-state target: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and of course California, where most EVs sold in America find buyers. The 2023 Electrified G80 is currently available in these states, or will be in a matter of weeks.

Now, it seems that showrooms in Washington, Nevada, Utah and Arizona will stock the 2023 Electrified G80 as well. Adoption of EVs continues to gain momentum.

Like other high-end Genesis models, the Electrified G80 is a full-on luxury car that can easily play the role of chauffeured executive ride. Decked out in Genesis’ Prestige-level trim, its interiors feature Nappa leather upholstery, a Lexicon audio system and a 14.5-inch dash touchscreen for infotainment control.

The AWD model comes with a two-motor, 365-horsepower powertrain that takes it from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, which is darn good time for a 5,500-pound behemoth. It rides on 19-inch wheels and has a full-charge range of around 285 miles; if a driver is down to 10% of capacity, a 22-minute plug-in will restore the batteries to 80%.

The 2023 Electrified G80’s driver-assist suite includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise and automated emergency braking as standard features.
