Three-Time World Series Champion Jon Lester Sells Chicago Home for Below-Purchase $3.5M

After about a year on the market, the Chicago residence of Retired MLB star and former Cubs team member John Lester has changed hands. Lester listed the home in April of last year with an asking price of $5.995 million. The property went to its new owner for $3.5 million, its last asking price, on the first day of September. Lester had paid $3.78 million for it back in 2015.

The house dates to 2010, according to listing information. Its exterior features Victorian-inspired architecture, limestone and a mansard roof. Its interior living areas measure in at 7,000 sq. ft. across three levels, with five bedrooms and six baths in all.

Details of the interiors include a number of backlit tray ceilings, skylights, fireplaces, hardwood floors, two staircases and an elevator. Amenities include an entertainment room with a marble fireplace and a wet bar, and the fourth floor: a rooftop deck with a timber pergola.
