As a special promotion for the Japanese market, Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur division has developed a special one-off homage model that recalls the 1967 win at the country’s Gran Prix. Porsche has called the unique creation the ‘718 Cayman GT4 Tribute to 906’.
The 906 in question had Tetsu Ikuzawa behind the wheel. The 718 will be on display at the Porsche Experience Center in Tokyo this summer. While it is not for sale, the 718 Cayman GT4 Tribute to 906 does represent the possibilities available for custom one-off models through the program.
The 718 Cayman GT4 Tribute to 906 is decorated with the 1967 car’s livery, which is dark yellow and white, with an 8 roundel. The one-off’s design adds dark yellow accents elsewhere for the sake of visual cohesion, though. Homage specifics unique to the 718 include the silhouette of Fuji Speedway that’s adorns the car’s profile.
