The Los Angeles Arts District penthouse of Fast & Furious helmsman Justin Lin, which appeared for sale on the open market last winter tagged at $7 million, changed hands in August. The multi-floor property closed at $5.5 million, setting a record for the neighborhood. Lin had owned it for a decade, if public records are accurate.

The Biscuit building residence is a gem for the lover of the loft style. It’s all about warmth and space, with red brick and plank hardwood in abundance and, in the common area, a soaring ceiling that clearly approaches (or exceeds) forty feet in height. The building dates to 1925.

The unit’s 4,300 sq. ft. of interiors are distributed across four levels, with the top floor dedicated entirely to the master suite. The levels are serviced by an open staircase that hugs the wall and incorporates balconies as it climbs. Along the way are a host of distinct spaces purposed at the time of the shoot as dining, office and lounge areas, with unfinished ceilings and exposed plumbing and ductwork popping up by turns as décor.

The square footage of the units exterior living area nearly matches the interior total: 3,600 sq. ft., including a rooftop deck and a complex of terraces.

Lin’s current television projects include S.W.A.T., Magnum P.I., and Warrior.
