Actor Harvey Keitel is the new owner of a 1930-built Spanish Eclectic in Santa Monica. The veteran actor and Scorsese favorite paid $7.2 million for the 4,438 sq. ft. five-bedroom, five-bath home, according to Dirt.
The two-level stucco charmer’s exterior features Juliet balconies, a turret, a tile roof, and mid-blue trim. Inside, the home is packed to the gills with period details — the foyer sets the pace, with a lovely roundel window in greens and a lantern fixture — and as the home develops the surprises accumulate.
Getting top billing: the living room’s niche shelving and Aztec-inspired fireplace, the master bedroom’s window seat, the multi-pane picture window illuminating the dining room, and the original casement windows and doors throughout the home. Updates to the kitchen have been remarkably tasteful of late; the room now sports a butcher block island cap and marble farm sink.
Outside: a private courtyard-like pool area with a partially enclosed cabana lounge.
Keitel’s upcoming films include Hard Matter, with Frank Grillo and Tyrese Gibson.
