Villa Firenze in Beverly Hills Asking $79.5M After Price Cut

One of the most extravagant properties in Beverly Hills — the classification covers a lot of ground — is back on the market for a second changing of hands in two years.

Villa Firenze, which was owned by Air Lease billionaire Seven Udvar-Házy before it went to auction with no reserve in late 2020, is currently tagged at $79.5 million. Udvar-Házy had hoped to see upwards of $165 million when he had it up for sale, but in the end the 9.87-acre behemoth went under the gavel, where it fetched $51 million. Its current owner or owners sent it back to market around six months after they closed on it…with an asking price of $120 million.

Villa Firenze dates to 1998. The landscaping that frames it comprises a pretty fair attempt at engineering a Mediterranean garden in Los Angeles. The interiors are an exercise in grandiosity; frequently beautiful, they are just as frequently contrived to elicit an awed response, and as the foyer transitions to the home’s intriguing foyer to the soaring reception room — which features a wraparound balcony above — the result is likely to be contrivance accomplished.

Ornamental columns, parquet oak and inlaid stone floors, arcades, skylights, Tuscan-inspired ceilings, and wrought iron are among the details across this property. The main house is supported by a detached guest house, while a tennis court and a pool are positioned amid the lawns and specimen plantings.
