After over eight years of availability and 250,000 examples produced, BMW’s fledgling everyman EV, the i3, is being discontinued. The hipster urban getabout will vanish from European dealerships after its swan song.

Which is a tune that fits the puckish personality of the i3 to a T. BMW calls it the Home Run Edition i3, and they’re going to make ten of ’em before the inning ends and the game is over (we’d toss ‘home stretch’ in for good measure, but BMW’s press release beat us to it).

The foundation for the end-game variation is the i3S, a sport-styled version of the green-souled ride. BMW’s designers came up with a pair of colors to distinguish the HomeRun: Frozen Dark Red (II), and Frozen Dark Grey. The car rides on 20-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, and comes with an optional glass roof and BMW’s Adaptive LED headlamps.

Inside the i3 Home Run: a leather-wrapped wheel and leather instrument panel, Vernasca Dark Truffle leather upholstery, and ambient lighting. Onboard tech includes BMW’s Driving Assistant Plus and a sound system from Harman Kardon.
