The Long Island red-brick estate of Wally Szczerbiak, NBA shooting guard-turned-analyst, is back on the market for the warm season, and the retired Minnesota Timberwolves team member is hoping for a snip to stimulate a sale.
Szczerbiak has had the house on and off the market for about five years now. In June of 2017, the property was listed with an asking price of $13.8 million. It reappeared on the market last year tagged at $7.9 million. It is currently priced at $7.5 million.
A 1930s acquisition of banker J.P. Morgan, the 1910-built mansion features a symmetrical façade that breaks into wings. Its 5.44-acre setting is spectacularly bucolic, with woods, a large lawn, and Inner Harbor and Cold Spring Harbor in the background.
The estate’s guest quarters bring the square footage count to 22,500; there are eight bedrooms and twelve baths across the residences. Amenities are lavish, and include a theater, wet bar, gym, basketball court, sauna, and large porch.
