In early 2018, television personality Teddi Jo Mellencamp purchased a Los Angeles modern-style for $4.07 million. The seller was Megan Ellison, the heiress of Oracle and founder of Annapurna Pictures, one of the more prestigious production companies to emerge in this century.
Having bought the place for $5.25 million about three years before, Ellison fared poorly on the deal. After buying in Encino to the tune of around $6.5 million in the summer of 2020, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ cast member Mellencamp decided to try her own luck selling the Mount Olympus property within weeks of the closing, and back to the market went the late-1970s five-bedroom, this time tagged at $5.995 million. A relist in recent weeks finds the asking price unchanged.
Renovations to the home have brought some glaring expressions of extravagant spending; in one of the baths, a wall treatment in contiguously grained black marble sheaths the interior, making a conspicuous statement for visitors who happen into this particular powder room. Other striking details include the wall of commercial stainless in the kitchen and the hardwood at work in the master’s walk-in closet/dressing room (which could be Macassar ebony).
The property’s living area extends outside grandly, with a terrace merging into a vertigo-inducing lounge experience, and a kitchen and bar with BBQ potential arranged around the pool.
