Michael B. Jordan Buys Luxuriant New Build in Encino for $12.5M

Actor and Outlier Society Productions founder Michael B. Jordan invested in a bit of Encino this spring. The home in question is a modern farmhouse, which may be considered the neighborhood style for Encino. The 2021 build ran Jordan $12.5 million when it closed around the middle of last month. Jordan’s old home in Hollywood Hills, having become redundant, went to a new owner for $7 million.

With its storm cloud gray exterior dressed up with plank hardwood and atmospheric lighting, the new house’s façade casts a spell that is moody, slick, and a touch earthy, with the eye drawn magnetically to the 20-foot entrance, a temple-like embellishment. In back, the house is joined by a detached guest house and pool house in like style, the property layout forming a grassy courtyard pool area as a centerpiece.

The home’s narrative of interior details reads like a map of contemporary mainstream luxury home tastes, at least for L.A.: the wide-open shared living area is decked out with wide-plank hardwood, a two-story ceiling and second-level overlook, slatted hardwood accents, linear fireplace with marble surround.

The kitchen features a soaring bank of floor-to-ceiling cabinetry; painted matte black, it makes for an imposing presence, but also an evocation of breadth, enhancing the feeling of space in the double-island design. Amenities in this home feature an elevator, a theater, four bedroom suites including a master with a fireplace and shoe closet, and of course the outdoor living area with BBQ bar, firepit patio, pavilion, and guest house.

Jordan will be appearing on a silver screen near you during this year’s holiday season in the potential blockbuster Creed III, which he’s also directing.
