This spring, actor and writer Kevin James listed the Delray Beach mansion he purchased in the winter of 2021. The King of Queens star has priced the heavyweight 2020-built home in Delray Beach at $19.95 million, so the ask represents a considerable gross if it sells at anything near to that figure; he paid $14 million for the hotel-like property when he closed on it fifteen months ago.
James fared well on a similar property in Delray Beach during the last decade. That property, which featured about 20,000 sq. ft. of interiors, was purchased by James for $19 million and sold for about $26 million four years later.
The property James is now selling is a lavish estate with a comprehensive amenities list. The main house is a three-level with architectural details that hint at Caribbean Colonial, although the home’s design is more contemporary. It is large, however, and looks it; its many sprawling balconies and terraces suggest a smaller hotel. Interiors place the emphasis on space, with bright white walls and ceilings for abundant reflected light. Again, there’s a tropical feel to the living style, albeit a subtle one.
The luxurious overtones of the living style aren’t so subtle. Amenities include a massive shared living area with a double island kitchen and a semi-rotunda dayroom, a billiards room with a bar and sliding glass opening to one of the many outdoor living spots, an elevator, a summer kitchen, and a huge master; the latter occupies the third level, and is decked out with herringbone-pattern hardwood, French doors opening to the suite’s private balconies, a spa bath, a morning bar, and an office.
A guest house on the property brings the total accommodations to six bedrooms and nine baths across 18,000 sq. ft.; a loggia connects the two homes.
Kevin James will reportedly be making cameo appearances in a handful of upcoming Adam Sandler films: Hustle, with Queen Latifah and Robert Duvall; Spaceman, with Kunal Nayyar; and Murder Mystery 2, with Jennifer Aniston.
