When it comes to residential choices, actress Anya Taylor-Joy apparently has an eye for authentic rusticity; the actress — who had a breakout role as a doomed innocent in Robert Eggers’ breakout film The Witch — paid $2.25 million earlier this year for an early 20th-century cabin in Hollywood Hills, according to Dirt.
The three-bedroom could charm the stripes off a tiger. Highlights of the interiors include the Frank Lloyd Wright ornamental window installed over the entrance in the wood-clad, double-height living room; a massive moon pendant also contributes greatly to the feel of the space. Meanwhile, the master bedroom features a trio of casement windows capped with a window series, and opens to a private terrace via a set of Arts & Crafts-inspired French doors.
Other surprises waiting inside the house: a double-sided fireplace, a sunroom with sliding sash windows, and the kitchen’s mix of dark green cabinetry, natural stone, and stainless. Throughout the home, eccentric ceilings, step-up transitions, stained glass, stenciled details, and a broad variety of window styles can be spotted.
The property’s outdoor living area is as expressive. The blue ribbon goes to the tiling around the BBQ, but the grounds meander beautifully through eucalyptus and fruit trees, and landscaping designed to look a touch wild. A patio and an in-ground spa take center stage.
Taylor-Joy’s in high demand these days. She recently starred in The Northman, with Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe. Her upcoming projects include Amsterdam, with Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, Chris Rock, Zoe Saldaña, Taylor Swift, Mike Myers, and Robert De Niro; The Menu, with Nicholas Hoult, Ralph Fiennes, and John Leguizamo; and Furiosa, with Chris Hemsworth. She also lends her voice to a computer-animated Super Mario film currently in the works, with Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, and Sebastian Maniscalco.
