Retired MLB catcher Buster Posey, late and exclusively of the San Francisco Giants, is the seller of an ideal getaway in Northern California. Posey put the 106-acre spot up for sale this spring with an asking price of $3.9 million.
The property, which includes a five-bedroom barn home, a caretaker’s or staff house and a shop alongside the five-bedroom main house, is called Springer Lodge, and dates to 2008. The property borders wetland and lake, and appears to be an established business catering to weekend duck hunters.
The indoor living spaces on the property are rustic-luxe, with pine plank walls and ceilings, hardwood and stone tile floors, and gas and wood-burning fireplaces; the main home’s open-plan living area features a stone accent wall and a vaulted ceiling. Amenities include a tennis court, a gym, a game room, and a deck overlooking the water.
