It took about five years, but retired World Series champ pitcher David Cone sold his downtown Manhattan condo this spring.
Cone, who retired from professional play in 2001 to become a commentator, initially listed the property in the Greenwich Lane complex in 2017, asking $10 million; the price was bumped to $10.5 million before beginning its decline. Prior to the sale, the four-bedroom unit had been asking $8.3 million, and that was the figure recorded at closing.
With its balcony overlooking the complex’s courtyard garden, the context of the unit’s living style is immediately apparent. The property also features an entry foyer, an eat-in kitchen with commercial-grade hardware and marble caps, and a master bedroom with a pair of oversized windows and a companion bath dressed up with mosaic floors and a freestanding tub.
