Following the announcement of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL 43, Mercedes-Benz recently had more performance news regarding the upcoming model year: the arrival of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 43, which adds a reasonably-priced AMG-level sedan to the 4-cylinder C-Class lineup.

Like the AMG SL 43, the AMG C 43 features the new 48-volt electric turbocharger of recent F1 designs, and the new, hyper-efficient M139l engine, a 2.0L inline four-cylinder that delivers 402 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque in this case. The M139l is a lightweight design, with moving components coated in a special super-durable lining.

The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox, with power delivered prominently to the rear wheels; less than a third of the energy is allocated to the front axle. The 2023 AMG C 43 can reach 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds. Notable features include adaptive suspension, 18-inch wheels, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes, AMG DYNAMICS programming, and AMG Ride Control suspension with the Adaptive Damping System.

The AMG C 43’s interiors are outfitted with AMG seats with MB-Tex/Microfiber seat covers, a flat-bottom leather-clad AMG steering wheel, leather trim, and various AMG branding.

Mercedes expects the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 43 to be in dealerships in the last quarter of the year. Pricing TBA.
