Television personality Jenna Bush Hager listed her condo in New York City for sale on the open market this spring. Hager is asking $3.395 million for the downtown residence, a 2,545 sq. ft. property in a 2015 building.

The condominium is designed with considerable circumspection toward integration with the existing landscape, and manages to reference prewar sensibilities as it suggests the contemporary; an engaging exterior, and an unexpectedly warm evocation of the New York apartment lifestyle. Hager’s unit is one of 18, and contains four bedrooms and four baths.

Renovations conducted since Hager’s purchase of the unit about five years ago include a general toning down of the condo’s more aggressive elements; in the kitchen, custom cabinetry, and a pale blue counter backsplash to complement it replace what appears to be a chillier original vision. There’s a hint of midcentury influence at work in the room now.

The property’s most compelling space is the living room, which has been given the bookish veneer of an aspiring writer by way of a splendid floor-to-ceiling bank of built-in shelves with rail ladder access. Building amenities include a rooftop terrace.
