In February of this year, Ford revealed a new special-edition GT variant: the Alan Mann Heritage Edition. Now, the latest in the Heritage series of the now-iconic American supercar pays tribute to professional competitive driver Holman Moody, who took his GT40 to a third place position at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966, a race Ford dominated entirely with the model.

The Holman GT40 livery of red and gold makes for a notable entry in the series. 5, the car’s number, is featured on hood and doors, and rear wing as well; they look a bit updated, with a stenciled white roundel that shows the number in the car’s gold paint, instead of the black-on-white of the original.

The Heritage Edition also packs in a great deal of carbon fiber; components rendered in naked carbon include the wheels, the rear diffuser and the splitter. The interior holds its share of the stuff as well, and is finished in a nearly all-black scheme to match.

Other entries in Ford’s homage series: the GT ’64 Heritage from the 2022 model year, the 2021 Heritage Edition — which tipped its hat to Daytona’s 1966 win — and the Gulf Racing Heritage Edition, which was released for the 2020 model year.
