A famous residential property in Malibu surfaced on the open market this spring after a fairly short hiatus from the for sale category. The last time the four-bedroom property sold was four years ago. It is back this spring with an asking price of $99.95 million courtesy of  its current owners, hedge funder Adam Weiss and actress Barret Swatek.

Along with an adjacent buffer lot, the expansive mansion and its dramatic promontory location made a convincing investment argument for Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber in the last decade; the couple listed the updated home for $60 million in 2016 and finally let it go for $45 million about two years later.

The original house went up in 1944, but revisions and additions have altered it significantly. The home’s interiors culminate in shared living spaces with optional glass that opens the room grandly to its setting in a splendid panoramic manner. Design highlights of the common areas include the staircase and the kitchen.

The property’s outdoor living spaces are more compelling. This estate does capture the remote, secluded feel of a great Malibu compound, and along its 3.18 acres are a tennis court, pool deck with fireplace cabana, terrace, spa, and walking paths, with views of El Sol Beach below.
