Formula One champion Jenson Button has listed several West Coast properties over the last few years. In 2018, he put his home in Brentwood, California, up for sale at $6.9 million. He had better luck with his house in Palm Springs; the Spanish-style property hit the open market in January of this year, asking $3.5 million, and sold at about $50K over ask.
Button would presumably like a repeat performance for his period Spanish-style in Santa Monica. He shelled out $5.8 million for the four-bedroom just last month. This month, the 3,535 square-footer is back up for sale at $6.5 million.
The house is a charmer, beginning with a gated courtyard entrance surrounded by mature trees and other plantings. Surrounded by flora and decorated with colorful tile, the house itself makes for a beguiling first impression, and encourages further investigation.
The interiors don’t disappoint, with original details abounding—narrow-plank oak, a kiva picture window, hand-hewn exposed ceiling timber, arched doorways, original doors, period light fixtures, wall niches, built-in shelving, casement windows, and stucco are on the list.
