After about seven years of ownership, actress Minnie Driver bade sayonara to her charming 1948-built cottage in Hollywood Hills. The 2,730 sq. ft. home closed last fall at $3.625 million, according to Dirt; a fair enough price for as secluded and green a corner of the neighborhood as one could desire. The buyer was actress Emma Roberts.
A look at the exterior of the single-level home reveals a fine period rambler with a set of red brick front steps, a bright blue front door, and a diamond-pane bay window; the .48 acre lot features landscaping that hints at overgrown for a lush feel.
The house contains three bedrooms and four baths. The designer-done interiors stand out with bold pattern choices. Shared living space packs in some winning details, including built-in bookshelves with glass doors, a brick fireplace, vaulted ceilings with exposed crossbeams, French doors, and narrow-plank oak. The kitchen and dayroom both offer access to the outdoor living area.
Which is a gem. Designed around a lagoon-like pool with a waterfall feature, the secluded spot is where the landscaping comes into its own, managing a superb illusion of a far-flung jungle swimming hole.
Driver’s upcoming projects include Hulu rom-com Rosaline.
