NBA shooting guard and Chicago Bulls team member Lonzo Ball invested in a bit of L.A. getaway-type real estate this spring.
Ball’s house-hunting foray in the City of Angels ended when he settled on a heavily renovated 1974-built modern. He closed on the property for $7.25 million.
Situated in a woodsy little .7-acre corner of Sherman Oaks, the 6,195 sq. ft. home has a very private and secluded feel. It contains six bedrooms and eight baths in its 6,195 sq. ft. of interiors. By virtue of its hilltop location, its backyard living area — which features a fire pit patio, a pool and sundeck, and a bar — offers very fine views of Los Angeles.
Inside the home, a contemporary living style carries the day. The shared living area is generally open, with retractable glass opening it to its outdoor space, support posts, a wet bar, a concrete accent wall with a linear fireplace, a kitchen with a long marble-capped waterfall island and lunch and snack counter, and natural-toned plank hardwood floors. LED backlighting provides atmospherics.
A single-stringer staircase with wood treads and a glass double balustrade transitions to the accommodations upstairs, which culminate in a double-master layout: a pair of suites with glass doors that opens to private balconies.
