Actor Michael B. Jordan put his secluded residence in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles up for sale this spring. He didn’t have to wait terribly long for a buyer to be entranced by the property’s atmospherics. The 4,800 square-footer hit the open market in the final days of March priced at $6.988 million; the listing was updated to reflect a serious offer mere days after the home appeared for sale.
Dating to 1997 and sitting on a green plateau east of Laurel Canyon, the home is preceded by a lengthy drive courtesy of the property’s one-acre lot size. Its exterior is expressed by architectural concrete, hardwood, tough angularity, and industrial flourishes that include exposed hardware.
The interiors are open, with a huge amount of glass that allows the green of the lot to inform the living style; the effect is particularly intense in the living room, where a vaulted ceiling with exposed rafters and a concrete fireplace accent wall are illuminated by large clerestory windows and a wall of pocketing, wood-framed glass panes.
Other highlights of this house: the kitchen and dayroom, which is situated against an exterior wall inset with single-pane French doors; the second-level master bedroom, which reprises elements of the living room; and the family room/den, which features a floor-to-ceiling bank of built-in bookshelves. Outside, the large lot has room for a large tiered patio complex with a two-stage waterfall reflecting pool, various raised planters, a pool, and a BBQ bar.
Jordan will try to punch his way to the top of the box office in the upcoming Creed III; the film is due out later this year.
