At last year’s Watches & Wonders show, Swiss firm Hublot revealed a very revealing watch design: the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire. The timepiece’s case is crafted entirely from sapphire—but then, so is the band.
At this year’s edition of the show, Hublot brought along a sapphire watch with a colorful twist. The company calls the watch the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Purple Sapphire, and it gives a translucent tint to the synthetic material that’s nearer to floral than royal.
Like the Full Sapphire — and all Big Bang series watches, for that matter — the Purple Sapphire features six titanium H-symbol screws. At 44mm, it’s a little bigger than the Full Sapphire, though, and its band is fabricated from translucent purple rubber.
Hublot will produce 50 examples of the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Purple Sapphire. The watch is priced at $200,000.
