The Manhattan residence of primary Sex and the City and follow-up series And Just Like That… cast member Cynthia Nixon popped up for sale about six months ago. The desirable four-bedroom had a bit of trouble closing, but finally went to its new buyer definitively in the last hurdle of winter.
The four bedroom property, a unit in a boutique building in the city’s Noho neighborhood, listed at $3.595 million last October. According to public records, it moved into contract at that figure within a month — then again a month later. It finally closed in late March.
Occupying part of the third level in a 1900-built building near the border of the Bowery, the loft unit features oversized windows and plank oak floors. The layout places the kitchen at the center of the living style, with the shared spaces fanning out around it; the three guest bedrooms are situated in a line along one exterior wall, but for privacy’s sake the master is positioned in an opposing corner.
The unit’s unpretentious style is emphasized by the cabinetry and the built-ins bookshelves; dividing the dining room from the living room is a peninsular built-in shelving unit that recalls midcentury designs.
Nixon’s current projects include HBO’s historical drama series The Gilded Age.
