Maserati’s new model for 2023, the Grecale crossover, will make its first appearance in a special inaugural variant, the Grecale PrimaSerie Launch Edition.

Maserati’s tagline for the Grecale is ‘the everyday exceptional’. The phrase nicely encapsulates the brand tweak the company has in mind: keeping the exotic overtones intact, but encouraging SUV buyers to consider Maserati as a daily driver. If it works, and Maserati can forge a unique brand alloy of exotic cachet and dependable errand-runner, the company could feasibly do in the 2020s what Alfa Romeo couldn’t in the last decade.

The most recent announcement from Maserati on the subject of the Grecale definitively outlines the trim levels available for the model. The upper-end Trofeo model is the performance version, with a 530-horsepower ‘twin-combustion’ V6 under the hood; the 330-HP Modena falls into the mild hybrid category, with a four-cylinder gas-burner supported by a 48-volt battery; and the GT is the entry-level, with the same four-cylinder developing 300 HP.

All Grecale trim levels will be available with special launch colors. For those desiring the complete launch experience, the PrimaSerie Launch Edition of the Grecale includes special cosmetic touches like contrast stitching as well as tech features unique to the variant. All Grecale trim levels include luxury touches, a sound system from esteemed Italian audiophile brand Sonus Faber among them.
