With his megayacht Dilbar moored in uncertain waters, Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov’s oceanic travel options have been significantly limited. The 512-foot craft was reported as seized in Germany in early March. Or, more accurately, disabled. The vessel is stuck in the country after sanctions made firing the boat’s crew members, including the captain, a necessity.
The latest seizure news regarding Usmanov related to his preferred landward conveyance: his Mercedes-Maybach limousine has been seized in Sardinia in accordance with U.N. sanctions. The armored S650 was taken into custody by Porto Cervo authorities, according to Italian news outlets. Other assets on the island belonging to Usmanov were seized, including a $17 million property and a fleet of executive cars.
The seizure is among the latest for Russian billionaires and others with links to Putin. Superyachts seized to date include Andrey Melnichenko’s Sailing Yacht A, Alexei Mordashov’s Lady M, and Igor Sechin’s Amore Vero.
The starting price of the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is around $600K.
Usmanov’s net worth has taken a hit lately, and currently hovers around $13 billion.
