Former Green Bay Packers team member Clay Matthews relisted his leviathan of a house in The Oaks of Calabasas, California, this month with a price snip. The Super Bowl champ initially listed the seven-bedroom, eleven-bath property at $30 million last July. Currently, the dual-gate estate is asking $27.995 million.
A design with a massive footprint, the 14,021 sq. ft. mansion ambles across one-story and two-story sections. It dates to 2020, and listing information has its style as French Provincial, but it could be described as a contemporary. The kitchen is perhaps the most intensely French-inspired spot on the estate.
The house sits on a 1.65-acre lot. The house occupies roughly half of that area, and along the way incorporates an interior courtyard. In back is the pool, with a lengthy loggia overlooking it, and an open-air cabana outdoor dining and living area, while the front is dominated by a large, circular motor court.
Amenities in this house—and there are lots—include a screening room with stadium seating, a wine cellar, a billiards room with a marble fireplace, a gym, a media room, and a car collector’s showroom garage.
