Aston Martin saved the best V12 Vantage for last.
Last spring, the automaker provided a first view of the Vantage F1 Edition, a V8-powered competition-oriented variant with improved downforce. Much higher up the range, the company’s no-windshield Speedster, which appeared about a year and a half prior, hinted at Vantage and Superleggera elements and came packed with a V12 besides.
Wider and generally stiffer, the V12 Vantage’s swan song variant is something of a mix of the two. It’s loaded with the company’s 5.2L V12 engine, which in this case produces up to 690 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, and its downforce rating is exceptional. It can reach 60 MPH in 3.4 seconds, and tickle 200 before it’s all done.
The V12 Vantage also comes with familiar componentry for top-tier Astons: an eight-speed ZF gearbox, as well as a host of carbon fiber bits and pieces, including its wing, skirts, and front splitter and rear diffuser; brakes are carbon ceramic, with four-piston calipers in back and six in front.
The 2023 V12 Vantage is expected to move into production within months. Aston is planning on producing 333 units.
