The five-bedroom Agoura Hills modern of Twilight star Taylor Lautner appeared on the open market recently; it flew into contract within less than a week. The nearly nine-acre estate had been listed with an asking price of $4,999,950. Lautner picked up the retreat in 2020 for $3.8 million.

The 2020 build is inspired by midcentury designs, but is filled out with concessions to contemporary tastes and fashions. There’s a fire feature to dress up the pool and patio area, as well as timber accents inside and out. Interior details include a single-stringer staircase with plank treads and a glass balustrade, Fleetwood doors, wide-plank oak floors in a low-gloss finish, and plentiful built-in shelving. The central living space is the cavernous open-concept kitchen, dining room, and family room.

The 5,647 sq. ft. home sits on a hilltop plateau, allowing for panoramic views of the local landscape. The pool, a massive installation with a covered outdoor living and dining area adjacent and a BBQ around the corner, is the centerpiece among the exterior amenities, but inside the house a bronze-tinged lounge with a wet bar and a bee’s-eye floral mural occupying much of one wall.
