With two fine West Coast properties new to his portfolio in the last few years, Jonah Hill may have decided that an East Coast residence is, for the time being anyway, not a priority. Last week, the actor listed the Noho property he purchased for $9.2 million in the autumn of 2016. He is seeking $10.995 million for the four-bedroom, five-bath residence.
Hill’s also in the news for an altogether different reason these days. He’s apparently become the new champion in the category of number of swear words said in film, beating previous record holder Samuel L. Jackson. But as laudable as that may be, right now he just wants you to make a f***ing offer on his listing.
The 3,280 sq. ft. loft condo is located in The Shumacher, a boutique building that hails from the turn of the last century, and contains 20 units across 7 stories. Its design style is rooted firmly in the building’s history as a lithographic printing house; in converting the building, the history has been retained, and that narrative is everywhere in this home.
Interior details are occasionally exceptional, culminating in the dramatic scalloped red brick ceilings that are a constant in the property. Wide plank hardwood, oversized sash windows with wood trim, and custom cabinetry are additional elements at work in the refined, tasteful dwelling.
Hill’s West Coast acquisitions deserve a word or two as well. In 2019, the Academy Award-nominated thespian purchased a splendid Monterey Colonial in Santa Monica for $6.8 million; that house, which dates to 1950, left his portfolio last year. But in the inbox landed a 3,653 sq. ft. modern in Malibu’s Colony neighborhood; the home came at a cost of about $9 million.
Hill’s upcoming projects include You People, with Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Deon Cole, and David Duchovny.
