The prettiest bike in the spate of Ducati’s recent lineup refreshes and additions may be the new Multistrada V4 S, but this recent reveal from the company, the Panigale V4 SP2, looks to be the most exciting. The only drawback is this: the new Panigale looks forward to the upcoming model year, so there will be a little bit of a wait before riders will be able to see it in the flesh.
The 2023 Panigale V4 SP2 draws on lessons learned and developments from Ducati’s decades of professional competitive racing history. It’s decked out in racing-specific componentry, including a 228-horsepower, 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine with MotoGP heritage.
The bike also comes with a dry clutch, MCS radial master cylinder, 520 chain, 5-split spoke carbon wheels, Brembo Stulema R front calipers, and billet footpegs. An aluminum front frame, a swingarm optimized for cornering and accelerating, and a racing suspension system complete a first look at a bike designed to go from showroom to racetrack without major upgrades or adjustments.
It doesn’t come cheap, though. The 2023 Panigale V4 SP2 is priced from $39,500.
