The luxurious Northern California lodge of action film star Steven Seagal found a new owner this winter. The property, which is located in the Shasta Valley area, initially appeared for sale in 2014 with an asking price of $12 million, but was relisted in November of last year at $7.5 million. According to public records, the 5,329-acre property changed hands for $7 million.
Listing information has the property titled Lava Lakes Nature Preserve. It is a working cattle ranch; there are seven lakes on the preserve, with wildlife including deer, bass and bird life various and sundry.
The main house on the preserve is a classic white pine P&B and log lodge containing nine bedrooms and ten baths across 14,063 sq. ft. of interiors. The shared living spaces culminate in a great room with a cathedral ceiling and series clerestories and what appears to be a bluestone tile floor. The master features a rugged fireplace accent wall for cooler weather and a French door-accessible terrace for warmer.
The larger house is augmented with a secondary residence containing three bedrooms and three baths across 4,200 sq. ft., a guest or caretaker’s cottage, barns and corrals.
